Creating TraqStudio HD Videos from Sony Camcorder HD Video Files

Convert the .MTS file from the Sony Memory Stick to a .MP4 file.
Start the Aiseesoft MTS Converter program. Program can be purchased at:
http://www.aiseesoft.com/mts-converter.html

Choose Add File to select .MTS video files to convert. If the recording includes more than one file due to the Sony camcorder 2Gbyte file limit, choose all the files and select the ‘Merge into one file’ option.

Choose the output video format = ‘HD MPEG-4 Video (*.mp4)’.
Choose the Destination folder where .MP4 file will be placed.

From Effect Menu choose ‘Deinterlacing’.

From Preferences Menu – change CPU to 100% to increase conversion speed.

Make sure Settings match these, especially frame rate = 29.97.

Conversion in process. Note that preview may not have the correct aspect ratio (video may appear squashed) but the final result will be correct.

When completed, start TraqStudio.

Open data file that goes with video.

Open newly created .MP4 video file. This can be played using the VCR controls or written using the Write Video button on the video window frame as described in Traqmate User Manual. The MP4 file will play on slower machines than the .MTS file and 2x playback is supported.

Choose ‘1440x810 (16:9)’ Video Size.
Choose ‘High’ Quality.
Choose the Output file location and name.
Choose your track, gauge, and info locations and sizes. You will probably want to maximize them.
Click 'Start' to make the video.
